- Each user will be able to monitor the impact of supported projects through Green Future Project counters on the app and E-GAP’s website;
- The agreement also includes a second project, already active, called Climate Leader, which aims to make the activities of E-GAP employees zero impact thanks to the company’s investment in green projects that allow them to offset the polluting emissions produced by their monthly and annual travel;
- Among the planned interventions: the planting of trees in Madagascar, the forest protection of two reserves in Ecuador and Colombia, and the encouragement of the use of renewable energy in the district of Jaisalmer, in India.
Rome, March 21, 2022 – For every electric recharge made by customers, funds are invested in activities that reduce CO2 emissions, such as tree planting and forest protection around the world. These are the goals of Climate Pioneer, a collaboration between E-GAP, Europe’s first urban, mobile, and on-demand fast-charging service, and Green Future Project, an innovative Italian platform that allows individuals and businesses to actively participate in climate change mitigation through a cost-effective and scalable service.
E-GAP will invest one euro for every recharge made to fund the planting of a tree at the Vilamatsa Mangrove Site in Madagascar, as well as the protection of 1.15 m2 of tropical forest in Ecuador’s Canandé Reserve. Each user will soon be able to track the impact of the projects they support using special Green Future Project counters on the app and the E-GAP website, as well as receive a monthly email containing a summary of the impact generated by their recharges and an Impact card to share on social media.
“The agreement with Green Future Project represents for E-GAP an important opportunity to further increase the commitment to environmental protection, implementing sustainable projects around the world and contributing to the fight against climate change,” said Luca Fontanelli, CEO of E-GAP. “We also count with these projects to raise awareness among our partners and our customers on these issues, pushing them to contribute concretely in first person to the reduction of global pollution,” concluded Fontanelli.
“The partnership with E-GAP is a valuable step to accelerate the fight against climate change, raising awareness among consumers and business population to make increasingly sustainable choices. Each of us can contribute even in his small way, the aim of this agreement is precisely to facilitate a concrete participation of the individual” said Pietro Pasolini, Founder and CEO of Green Future Project. “Green Future Project is strongly committed to enabling everyone, companies and individuals, to actively participate in global warming mitigation by providing a simple and transparent subscription service to protect the environment” concluded Pietro Pasolini.
Climate Leader, a project that has been active in recent days to make E-GAP staff’s activities zero-impact, is also included in the agreement with Green Future Project. The project calls for the classification of employees into three bands based on the pollution generated by their work movements, as well as the company’s commitment to invest financial resources in green projects to offset polluting emissions.
Climate Leader’s contributions are visible on the company’s corporate website, which will track the amount of CO2 that has been offset through planned activities in real time.
The initiatives planned for this second project include funding tree planting at the Vilamatsa Mangrove Site in Madagascar, forest protection in Ecuador’s Canandé Reserve and Narupa Reserve, and Colombia’s Bajo Calima y Bahia Malaga Reserve, as well as encouraging the use of renewable energy at the Wind Farm in the Jaisalmer district.
