- The van fleet will be expanded by 100 new vehicles by next summer, with a target of 500 vans by 2025;

Rome 24 november 2021 – The next three years will be crucial for the expansion in Europe and worldwide of E-GAP, Europe’s first mobile and on-demand recharging operator for electric cars. The Italian company, with services already in place in Rome and Milan, and soon in other cities across the peninsula, plans to invest 200 million euros in its new three-year business plan, mainly to expand its mobile charging infrastructure, expand its product range and open up new countries and around 200 cities in Europe and the US.
With regard to expansion on international markets, the Plan provides for the opening of the service in France and Spain by the end of the year, starting with Paris and Madrid. Expansion will also involve Germany and the United Kingdom by the first half of 2022, thus completing the first phase of the Industrial Plan, which envisages positioning the service in the main European countries, corresponding to about 70% of the electricity market in the area.
The second phase of the plan includes further expansion in Europe to cover the main capitals of the Old Continent, as well as entry into the US market by early 2023.
“Expansion outside Italy is a decisive step for E-GAP and consolidates the success of our service, which is based on convenience, flexibility and ease of recharging. We are confident that France and Spain will be the first stepping stones to further expansion in other countries, in Europe and beyond, developing a new model of green recharging alongside fixed infrastructures that have very long implementation times” said Luca Fontanelli, CEO of E-GAP.
E-GAP is also working on expanding its fleet of on-demand electric charging vehicles: 100 new e-vans are planned by summer 2022, with the aim of reaching 500 green charging vehicles by 2024.
The company is also working to complement its mobile charging offering with a range of off-grid charging solutions, including an initial launch of ultrafast products as early as the first half of 2022.
New appointments in newly opened markets
E-GAP’s Board of Directors has appointed Frédéric Courneau, a manager with 25 years’ experience in the PSA Group (Stellantis), as Country Manager for the French market, and Álvaro Pellejero, former Global Operations Manager for Europe and Latin America at Movo, as Country Manager for Spain.
